Sure, but you will need a light source as complete and beneficial as that of the sun. There are full spectrum light bulbs for sale.

Depends what you mean.

If you mean that if there was no sun at all, then the answer is no. Life can not survive on Earth with out the heat from the sun, we would freeze and die.

If you mean that you are going to be living your life avoiding the sun, then I guess you can live. It'll probably be very bad to your health but you could survive I guess. Well whatever you do to try to avoid the sun, you can't. Even if you try to hide in a dark corner of your basement, you'll still get heat from the sun.

"People" would have a tough time of it in the long run but there are many forms of life that do not need sunlight, at least not directly.

Scientists have found tubeworms living at the deepest depths of the ocean where the sun never shines. These worms get their food from nearby volcanic vents rather than from organic matter or photosynthesis. So in short, "life" can exist without the sun.

All the answers above take the point of view that the human exist. The right approach is the opposite. Humans exist on earth BECAUSE of the favorable conditions that exist on earth. Those conditions include the sun. Other important conditions are the distance from the earth to the sun, the composition of our atmosphere, etc.. Those are the conditions that enabled life and eventually humans to develop in the first place. The stability of those conditions over large period of time, and for that matter the evolution of those conditions itself, all contribute to the lucky sequence of events that enable humans to exit on planet earth. So, yes, if you take the sun out, those favorable conditions disappear, and not only we disappear, but we would not exist in the first place.

With too little sun, you develop a Vitamin D deficiency. You can develop ricketts.

Without any sun, it's even worse.

Also, you get rather chilly. Without thermal radiation, you get to almost zero degrees kelvin, which is quite cool.

Over and over...................

Yes. you can, in a life-supporting spacecraft, of course.

But, if you mean, "can life be sustained on Earth without the Sun", the answer is repeatedly and resoundingly "NO".

You will very shortly freeze to death and starve to death in the dark. Why is that so hard to see?
