Do some people look a LOT better in person? Or do they look the same in pics?
Why do you think so?

gavira, I like your answer but.... isn't photography part of art? I *think* it is considered to emanate one's feelings...
so why do you say that it lifeless....

Me and my boyfeiend - we don't keep pictures of ourselves in the house. We are not ugly, just not fotogenic. :-)
I like the way I look in the mirror, and loads of men find me attractive, it just doesn't work with the camera.
I think it's because what you see on the camera - is lifeless and characterless. While when seeing someone in person you also subconsiously react on their personality, feromons and all sorts of other things.
After all - what we see in the mirror, and on the camera - these images are all wrong. This is not the way other people see you. And you would never know what you look like for real.
Strange thing I found though - pictures taken by different people look different. I had my picture taken in the same place, same day but by different people, and the difference was stunning!
Try to ask people with taste and artisism to take your picture. I think it also helps if the person who is taking your picture has some feelings for you.

I think some people are naturally more photogenic than others. This is because camara can't take a three-dimensional photo and some people's features look a lot better in 3d and some people look good head on. Also, a lot of people don't know how to make themselves look good in a picture by not working their best angles.

I'm photogenic so this is easy. the reason why is because people have different personalities. and have different wishes i want 2 b a super model (I'm a model) so i have 2 get ready.maybe some people don't like it some people are quite and just want 2 disappear. i look better in pic because i get my makeup done and hair new clothes. b cause it my dream i love making a impression.

Yes. My mother is absolutely gorgeous in person. But when she has her picture taken, they almost always make her look terrible. (Don't know why).
I also knew this girl in high school who was only of average beauty, but she always looked like a knock-out in the year book photos.
I have no idea why this would be the case.

Most people who are supposedly not photogenic only are so because either they don't look that good in real life either, or they create a self-fulfilling prophesy by believing they look bad in photos, and consequently they make faces or put their hands up or frown or otherwise look miserable, which ruins the picture and makes it appear like they are not photogenic.

yes, i think I look a mess in pictures but when you see me in public i look ten times better.
