What are those jars with flippy things called?

They come in sets? Usually of flour and sugar and such. They are glass (or ceramic) and have that little metal tap flippy thing that you have to flip up to open them. What are these kids of jars called? I'd like to just get a bunch of small clear ones. Where can I get them?

I agree with the person above me. It's just called a canister set. My husband and I just bought one about a month ago at Wal-mart. The ones we got are black with the flip lids that you are describing. If you can't find the ones you are looking for at Wal-mart, I think Linens and Things would carry it. Or go here:

I think they're just called flour or sugar canisters. And you can get them at any place that sells kitchen stuff, and even Target and Wal-Mart. You'll probably have to try a number of stores like that to find exactly the kind you want. You can always do a search for kitchen canisters online and I'm sure you'll find what you want!

The jars you described are based upon the old Mason Jar design. Unfortunately, mason jars are not designed with the flip tops anymore, they now use screw on tops. You may be able to find them if you do an Internet search or if you go to a bunch of yard sales or antique shops, but they are not too easy to find.

At the top of my head I can't remember what they are called , but you can probably go to cost pulse and see if they have them. Ok.
