I have to go to a wedding in August and I don't even know the people (they're my boyfriends friends). I have no idea what to wear. I want to look nice obviously, but don't want to spend too much. I'm also having surgery in a month so my arm will be in a splint. Yeah, bulky and uncomfortable. Any recomendations?

I forgot to mention that I can't wear strapless (kind of top heavy if you know what I mean) but I only wear about a size 8. also, I don't like the idea of wearing white to a weeding. Takes away from the bride. Thanks!

For a summer wedding you should wear a colorful dress with a simple print. Try a shade of pink or yellow. I totally agree with not wearing white. That is a major no. You should get a halter dress. They are very good for a top heavy figure. ;) Try a very low heel and a small clutch. Have fun! :) O and don't worry about your arm. Nobody is going to be like OMG her splint doesn't match her dress. That is just ridiculous.

Well, even though it's not so much the tradition anymore, I'm assuming the wedding is in a church, or something similar. Therefore, I suggest what one would wear to church. Although, lately, I've been seeing women and girls show more skin and clevage in church than what I would hanging out at home. I have a maternity shirt that shows more clevage than what I like and I've chosen to not wear it to church events simply because it could slip, or I bend without thinking and it shows everything, etc. I have to play with it to pin it together.

Anyway, given that your arm will be in a sling, I suggest a fitted short sleeved blouse (or a dressy T) with an elastic waist skirt. From past experience, I've learned that it's easier to pull down a skirt with an elastic waist or pants with one hand than to pull up a skirt with one hand. Pants would be okay, but I've not found any "dressy" (as opposed to sweats) pants with elastic that didn't look old lady. If you do choose a halter, or tank top or the like, then I suggest that you wear it with a sweater or blazer inside the church. If it is inside a church, then you don't know how conservative the standard dress is and it's just more respectful this way. Also, I suggest no flip flops but at least dressy sandals.

I attend church weekly as part of my faith. While I'm more relaxed about some things than what my mother was (I'll wear jeans to church, as look as they look nice [Sunday I wore a materinity blouse with my dark blue maternity jeans and loafers]; I wasn't allowed to growing up), I still hold to some traditions, like being properly covered.

I hope this helps.

I have a wedding in august to go to also and I'm going to wear a summer dress probably from Macy's because they have a broad selection and the prices are very reasonable. You could get away with anything depending where you live. Here it's still really hot in Aug. so I would go with a light weight knee length dress and a strappy sandal.

Something light weight and easy to move around in. Like a simple white spring dress. Maybe in a cotton fabric?
Or even a little black dress is okay these days.
But, I really think you should go with a flirty, white sundress. You can even wear flats with it so it's more comfortable.

Go strapless, or spaghetti straps. Personally, I get dresses off of ebay. I know Im a small, and that I like empire waists, so I just do a search for S empire dress and it pulls up EVERY SINGLE COLOR AND STYLE. I just pick one out, pay like 30 bucks and its sent to me. I loooove it. I've NEVER had a bad experience... YET. (knockin on wood) haha.. Good luck

I would go with white, or something pastel. I would stay away from any dark colors since it is such a light occasion. Light colors look fun and flirty especially when your young so why not keep ou look fresh.

don't go to the wedding so that you won't have any problem.... you have an excuse because of your condition.... just deliver them your wedding gift as a sign of your thoughtfulness
