I personally prefer James Bond.....hmmm....guess I'll just keep this question a secret from the guy on the other side of the debate. He'd never let me live it down.

I'm not comparing the two. I completely prefer 007. Just trying to settle a debate....which it looks like I'm on the losing end of right now. Maybe all the Bond loyalists will come along in a minute. Or maybe they're all dead. The franchise started in the 60's....

LOTR!!!!
I hate Bond! The movies are insufferably terrible, as is much of the "action". I hope the character of James Bond dies a slow, painful death!! Much like the pain one endures when watching a Bond movie!!

LOTR....Bond can get too cheesy at times and is often a similar story or plot repeated over and over in the various movies. LOTR was an extremely original story and the detail about the world they lived in, what they enocuntered, and all of the different characters is simply amazing and matched by hardly no other similar novels. Some people may not like it because of its "fantasy" genre, but I can only take so much Bond. I do enjoy the Bond movies, but in a situation such as this where you have to pick, I'd say LOTR.

Lord Of The Rings is actually one loooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggggg movie. Especially if you watch the 12- disc set. I haven't seen very many Bond films, so I would have to say Lord of the rings. It's right of there with the original STAR WARS movies.

By far the James Bond movies. James Bond has all those beautiful women, the great cars, and all those great gadgets. That's what makes it so much fun to watch a 007 movie.

Depends on your preference. Personally, I think Lord Of The Rings is written better, but is very long. Bond is great, and is set in a real world we can all relate to.
So, I'd go to see either, but if I'm home, and going to pop on a dvd, it's going to be Bond more than Rings.

Lord of the Rings; it's superior filmmaking over the course of the series, whereas the Bond movies a) set a slightly lower bar (not that I'm complaining) and b) have some REAL stinkers with them (Diamonds Are Forever and Die Another Day, anyone?).
