i live in an apartment and there seems to be a cat who loves to pee in front of my house. I don't want to be extreme with the cat but what should i do to prevent it from coming over to do its "business''. Its very troublesome to clean up and find pee when i come home from work. Any ideas or proven methods?

use black pepper, sprinkle tons of black pepper where he is peeing, for some reason they don't like it

Get a box of cheap mothballs from any Dollar Store or WalMart. Put on a pair a gloves and bury the moth balls in the dirt along the front of the house where the cat has been peeing or spraying. Animals hate the smell and will avoid the area. If you are a tenant, it isn't really your responsibility to "clean up" anything outside the building, especially something like cat pee. I would contact the landlord and ask THEM to do something about it, if the mothballs don't work. Make sure there isn't any chance that any kids will get into the area, though - the moth balls are toxic if ingested. They also have to be replaced if they get soaked from rain.

If you don't want to do the mothball thing, check with your local nursery and find out which plants may repel animals by their scent. Here is a link to some other good ideas:

use lemon cleaner, juice. anything citrusy really.
