Some of us just have it worse than others. Birth control (I was on depo for a long time) is not the cure all for it. You should be glad you've been able to function better for so long now. It might just happen this time & then not again for another year, you never know. I think the first step is acknowledging it which you've already done. You know you're being distant and negative so sometimes you just need to kick yourself in the butt & try to get happy. Trust me I know how bad it is but I got ANGRY not sad. Or you could see a specialist and find out what they have to offer in the way of hormone pills. Best of luck :-)

I have a really rough time with PMS,to the point that I have been diagnosed with PMDD. It is no fun. The best thing you can do is drink lots of water (to keep the bloating down), exercise even though you don't feel like it and eat properly (even though you crave chocolate and donuts during this time). If your depression gets too much to cope with, please talk to your doctor about your symptoms. You may need some medicinial help to get you through that time of the month.

There are steps you can take to actually build a strong, stable marriage and avoid divorce. Read here https://tr.im/LtBCV

Here are some key steps to apply to your marriage:

- Start by understanding and being informed.

You can never be too informed about tools, methods and studies about building successful marriages. Understand the risk factors like your age and maturity at marriage can determine how successful it will be, the anatomy of an affair and what you can do after infidelity. Understand the success factors like the personal and psychological circumstances that will influence your marriage, what are the tools and approaches available to you in dealing with conflict, and numerous other relevant data. All this information is readily available to you whether through self-help material, through a counselor, support group or other venues. In fact, we have made it our commitment to provide these to you in different formats to help you make the best marriage you can.

The thing is, remember, this is information is not available for you to begin hyper-psychoanalyzing your relationship, yourself and your partner. It's not a matter of spewing trivia for the sake of conversation ' information is there for you to ponder over and internalize to help you transform yourself and your marriage. That includes maturing to such a point that you become more competent in your knowledge but more prudent in approach.

You can take a relaxing bath with soothing scents of body wash or something realaxing and quiet. Or you can get some friends and go shopping, get some ice cream, anything that will keep your mind off of your pms.

Eat some chocolate. That always cheers me up when I have PMS. Listen to your favourite songs over and over again and then watch a funny film.

Other women have had these symptoms and they have been helped.
e.g.
http://www.progesterone.co.uk/index.cfm?fuseaction=sc.pms

I searched for "natural progesterone pms"

Natural progesterone has been known about since 1953, it was Katharina Dalton that coined the term PMS

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/health/article501974.ece

Within a month of starting as a general practitioner, she was called out in the middle of the night to an asthmatic with severe breathing problems. As she left, the husband apologised and mentioned that he had to call a doctor out every month. Dalton remembered her own migraines, which she suffered monthly, but never when pregnant. On advice from a former teacher, the endocrinologist Dr Raymond Greene, she had found relief from them with natural progesterone.

In the same month Dalton made a note of each woman patient who visited the surgery, observing when this was a “regular” — ie, monthly — call. Eventually, after discussions with Greene, she decided to treat a couple of the patients with progesterone. It brought immediate relief, and together with Greene she wrote the first paper on the subject of premenstrual syndrome. Published in the Medical Journal in 1953, it was the first of many.
In the subsequent years, she pursued her career as a GP while conducting parallel research into premenstrual syndrome. This involved regular visits to Holloway prison, where she interviewed newly committed prisoners. She found that 49 per cent had been sentenced for crimes committed during the paramenstruum (four days prior to the start of menstruation and first four days of menstruation).

It through giants like Katharina Dalton and the women he was treating that John R Lee learned about the benefits of natural progesterone.

Stress --> Hormone Imbalance --> "Health Issue"

Stress leads to cortisol production
cortisol blocks the progesterone receptors then hormone imbalance can occur

As a preliminary do the on line hormone tests at www.hormoneprofile.com or www.johnleemd.com

If they recommend you obtain hormones please have a saliva test done see www.npis.info or www.salivatest.com. A saliva test will check out active hormones something that blood tests do not.

If a hormone is suggested by the saliva test please take the dose suggested for you. Size 10 shoes are not twice as good if you have size 5 feet.
The WHO (World Health Organisation) uses saliva tests.

A transcript of a John Lee talk - this explains why for hormones a blood test is worthless and much more
http://www.keepsmilin.com/transcriptdrle...

Blood tests find hormones, but they are the ones on their way out of the body. They do not give the active hormone levels.

There is a list of doctors at www.npis.info who are aware of the benefits of natural progesterone they may be more helpful than your GP. You are about to educate your GP :-)

Natural progesterone means natural to humans i.e. identical to that produced by the human body.

For a good explanation of how vital natural progesterone is to humans see

http://www.hormoneprofile.com/howhormone...
and other pages on this site

After having done a saliva test any progesterone you buy must be natural progesterone USP. USP means United States Pharmacopoeia. Wild yam is that Wild Yam, the body will not convert it to progesterone.

Do not take fake/synthetic progesterone/progestins manufactured by the drug companies they will be of NO benefit.

Hope this of benefit to you ...

Treat yourself to a big bar of chocolate!!! chocolate is a natural happy food, as when eaten a hormone called endorphines is released in the brain, the same hormone released when you laugh which makes you happy. Have a nice warm bath too.

As hard as it is to motivate yourself when you feel like that, try to exercise! It really does help brighten you up.

I am the same way!! I hate it! It's like I'm a completely different person and I can't wait to be myself again.
