For password prompt from IE, go to tools, internet options, content, autocomplete and turn on the option to remember passwords

I have several accounts and can't keep track of all the user names and passwords so I created a file on my computer with all of the stuff I need to remember. Name it something weird so that it can't be opened by someone else (i.e. not passwords).

Usually IE offers to remember passwords when you sign in somewhere for the first time.

Passwords are often stored in cookies so if you remove cookies you will have to enter your password the next time you enter a site.
