Everyone got a big stick and a sack. The object was to bang on the trees hard enough so the snipe fell out of the tree. Then you had to catch them in the sack as they fell.! Ha ha!

I once caught a whole bag of 'em. You needed special glasses to see them, you know, like the kind Grampa wore. He could see them and tell me exactly where they were and when I had some.

We owned a campground when I was a kid so I never got to go. I always wondered what you people were doing with the sticks and sacks!

I think most of us as kids went on the old snipe hunt....my Uncles had me stand guard almost all night waiting, while they laughed their butts off......sweet innocence of youth.......thanks
