The yellow exclamation point means that the vehicle stability assisty system (VSA) was activated. The stability assist system uses a combination of applying the brakes and a reduction of engine power to restore stability on turns or when the vehicle is swerving such as you would have under your wet road conditions. It felt like the gas pedal wouldn't respond because the VSA system had taken over partial control of the engine and brakes to restore control to the vehicle. From your description, it sounds like the system is operating as it should and that there should be no reason for you to take it in to have anything checked out.
Heres the information from the 2007 C-RV owner's manual on how the system works:
The vehicle stability assist (VSA) system helps to stabilize the vehicle during cornering if the vehicle turns more or less than desired. It also assists you in maintaining traction
while accelerating on loose or slippery road surfaces. It does this by regulating the engine’s output and by selectively applying the brakes.
When VSA activates, you may notice that the engine does not respond to the accelerator in the same way it does at other times. There may also be some unusual noise from the
modulator. You will also see the VSA activation indicator blink.
The VSA system cannot enhance the vehicle’s driving stability in all situations and does not control your vehicle’s entire braking system. It is still your responsibility to drive and
corner at reasonable speeds and to leave a sufficient margin of safety

I got a Honda crv 98, and it use to lose power going up a hill just like yours. I thought it was crap, but I did some research on the vehicle and it said something about all Honda CR-Vs lose power going up hills blah, blah not enough air goes into the engine (air/fuel combustion), so I bought an COLD AIR INTAKE and it got that power it was needing real bad. I now can fly up hills with no problems and the engine sounds great.
Simply put, get a CAI system for your vehicle, you'll surely get more horsepower than me, yours a newer model or check the dealer you got the vehicle from. Grrrrrrrr

hello. 'I' think you should rest. Have you driven it since the incident? If so, how does it run now? I say this, in relation to an event I had in m '85 Jetta. I went over a spot in 'the valley', got into water, and ALL the lights went on with the dash. The engine quit. But I was able to start it again after a few moments. The electrical system is VERY much a part of the car. If you are older, you could know when it wasn't the 'same'. : }

TD - your getting a bad answer form a Honda sales manager above me! I guess it true: Those who can, do. Those who cant, manage.
The little yellow exclamation point is your VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control). When your wheels begin to spin freely, the VSA kicks in to reduce wheel spin and gain traction, which is why you felt no responce from your gas peddel.
I just took this picture of the light an a new 2007 CR-V:

That definitely is not the traction control. You can take it to a dealer. They can run it through for a system diagnostic if it wasn't too long ago. I wouldn't get overly worried though.

That is most likely your traction control. Your wheels were probably spinning.
Your car lowers your power output to the wheels and may apply brakes (no matter what you do) in order to gain traction.

do not worry. This is Honda. Open and check your manual I think your stability contol was on and off. If you have warranty go and check to the diealer but they may tell you the same.

thats weird that you lost power. exclamation points are generally for your brakes. was your e-brake on? i'd bring it in since its under warranty and have them run diagnostics.
