My girlfriend has been on birth control for a few years now and she was getting cramps a few days ago for her period, we had sex a few times, last time being monday. She claims her period usually comes on Tuesday afternoon but it's Wednesday morning now and i'm not sure if she's gotten it yet. Should i be nervous?

She takes her pill all the time. Never misses it, and takes it at the same time 99% of the time.

Only a day? Don't worry until its been at least a week. No one is on a set schedule. It's normal for a period to fluctuate a few days.

A day late is generally not too much to worry about. Remember the pill is only about 98% effective, and that vomiting, or stomach upsets as well as drinking alcholol and some pain killer tablets greatly reduce its effectiveness. An over the counter pregnancy test can determine a pregnancy as early as being a day late... if it shows negative and in a few days your girlfriend still hasn't had her period, then do another one. By the way you only have to have sex once to make a baby, it doesn't matter how many times you've had it before her last period. I would advise that in addition to her birth control pill, you also take some precautions with condoms and a good spermacide as condoms are less effective on their own. Good luck.

If she's on a Sunday Start routine then she probably will get her period on the third or fourth day of the non hormone pills. I'm on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and I always get it by Wednesday, sometimes earlier on Tuesday. Chances are that she should get it within the next 24 hours. However, Birth Control isn't 100% effective and she could still be pregnant if you ejaculated inside of her. If she doesn't get her period by the end of this week then she should probably by a home pregnancy test. But don't worry...Birth Control is pretty reliable and she should get it soon. If she starts having an irregular period though she may have to switch Birth Controls.

no birth control is 100% the b/c pill is only 98% effective but it is very unlikely. As long as she has not missed any pills you should be okay, i mean she is only a day late. I would wait a couple more days and then if not do a pregnancy test..good luck

No you shouldnt be nervouse. if a week goes by and she doesnt get her period then get a preg. test. But women's periods change days all the time whether we realize it or not. It could be shes hanging around other women alot and their periods are affecting hers (this does happen by the way). She will be fine. Dont get too worked up soo soon.

uhm....NO, no need to be worry...calm down ok..first of all whats the big deal of her period ON LY 1 day late?? ....
girl period sometimes comes later and sometime early depending on her depress and stress...she might just got some stress about stuff that why her period hadn't come yet......sometime a girl can even miss their period for one whole month..nothing to worry....if it doesn't come for another month or so..then check it with a doctor.

Plenty of people get pregnant on birth control. Not that you should stress, but she should take a test to rule out pregnancy if it does not come shortly.

no. it is natural for a period to switch every once in a while. they usually dont stay on an exact course but they just come around the same time.

i got pregnant with my first kid while i was on birth control, just wait a few more days and if nothing go get her checked out.
