Yes but watch them to make sure they do not fight . Some fish are naturally aggressive -- not matter if they are like the DAINTY girly goldfish I once had who would ATTACK any other goldfish I tried to put in her tank. So.. she lived alone and was very happy!!
The other thing you want to do is make sure both fish are healthy, so neither one catches any fishie disease.
If you have pebbles in your tank, take out most of them - goldfish are notoriously pooopy critters and their poop, under pebbles will rot and cause major ammonia stench and hurts the fish. You will need to clean out the tank every so often, 1/3 of the water at the most -- or they may get sick from too much new water.
If they get along-- great!! Enjoy your happy little fishes!!!

Yes but some fancies may have a harder time getting the food. I would avoid the special eyed goldfish with comets, they don't see very well and the comet will eat everything before the moor even realises there is food in the water. Here's my list of what you can keep with comets.
wakin
jinkin
fantail
ryukin
oranda
pearlscale
www.goldfishutopia.com has wakin and jinkin right now for sale. Wakin is a very good tank mate for a comet.
Avoid these goldfish with your comet
moors (demekin)
celestials
bubble eyes
ranchu
lion head

You... can... but it's not usually advised. Comets and other straight-finned goldfish tend to be much more aggressive than the fan-tailed fancy goldfish. Like the previous poster said, make sure they have plenty of room (2.5 gallons to inch of goldfish is a good measurement), and keep an eye on them- make sure the fancy fish are getting enough to eat (they swim slower than the comets) and the comets aren't picking on them.

It's not really recommended, because the common types (including comets) are faster swimmers than the fancies with their double tails, so the fancies may have a problem getting enough food.
If you use a divider to separate them (and if you have a large enough tank to keep multiple goldfish - commons can get up to 18", fancies up to 10") it would be possible.

Yes you can because all goldfish are related in one way.
There is not much difference between comets and fancies except that comets are smaller and fancies are rounder and have a fancy tail.

I wouldn't do it, because fancies won't get much food. They are fatter and slower. They also don't get as big -- you can have a "smaller" tank (still has to be at least 10 gallons per fishy) with fancies which get 8-10 inches long, but need a very large one with commons since they get a foot or two long.

You can provided you have enough space. Goldfish get VERY large and require tons of filtration and aeration. For just those two fish you would need AT THE VERY LEAST a 29 gallon aquarium.
