Er...no.
Listen, just ignore Fox News. They really have little or no credibility. BBC is the best.
Venezuela is a beautiful country. Chavez was a hero to call Bush a devil, during the UN session.

Well firstly to those who call Chavez a dictator - he was democratically elected and was elcted by a greater percentage of voters than ever voted for a US President or British Prime Minister.
John Pilger has just released a film in Britain entitled the War on Democracy which charts the US involvement in forced regime in South America including attempting to overthrow Chavezs government - that comes from documents and CIA evidence. So who should fear who? The deomcratically elected leaders in South America should fear the US because the US knows that these democratically elected leaders are for the most part socialist and are also sitting on huge oil reserves.
Chavez has nationalists the oil companies and that means no profits for multi nationals. Bush hates that - but Chavez is perfectly within his rights - it is Venezuelan oil. Chavez is also threatening to sell oil in Euros, which was a root cause of the Iraq war (Saddam did the same) and Iran are doing this.
Is there a reason that the right wing news are labelling Venezuela as a threat? Oil & the threat of Euro trading. Just like Iran and Iraq!!!

Some of you people amaze me. Your so jaded within your political beliefs that you can't objectively take in information from sources other than what fit's your perspective of wants.
Whatever happened to taking in multiple source information and validating it on your own through research? Are you so narrow minded you need to be spoon fed by your political affiliation?
Every news affiliate has it's own presentation. Every single one of them manipulate information. And honestly, it's common knowledge CNN and Fox are at opposite ends. CNN strives to appeal to the liberals and Fox doesn't. That's your real complaint here. You don't care for FOX because they aren't liberally based. Would the question regarding fear have even been asked if it were CNN reporting the same news, or would people just accept it and press on without giving it a second thought?
As for "Chavez" and Venezuela being a potential threat, tune into the South American news channels (not just Venezuela), and see what their thoughts are. They aren't very happy. Even they're smart enough to realise the potential impact and upheaval.
Validate your vote by posting a reply, regardless of position. Show some mettle.

Venezuela is a threat to American business. When Chavez nationalized all of the Venezuelan oil companies (which shut out big western corporations) all of a sudden he was a "dictator" and a "kook" (this is coming from a "decider" who speaks to God). Venezuela is not a threat. Their philosophy differs from that of the US's (socialism vs. capitalism). And naturally anything that goes against corporate financial interest is a threat. Chavez isn't a threat to you and me, he is a threat to a US oil tycoon.

Picture this. Venezuela, a dog about the size of a Yorkshire Terrier and say the US the size of a Great Dane. As little dogs do they bark and snarl and carry on thinking they are big. The Great Dane can swollow the Yorkie in one gulp. Is the Yorkie a threat to the Great Dane? I doubt it. But he does like to bark like he is.

It's crap. If you want the real story watch BBC News.
The worst they could do is shut off the oil tap, and Chavez isn't so keen to cut off his nose despite his face.
Let's keep the focus on the real problems,.. like illegal immigration and the Iraq mess.

Just like they say that they can get no information on the war in Iraq. Don't you wish that they would report on the economy rather than some idle threat?

By nationalizing the oil companies Chavez is an enormous threat to their profits. That's why billionaire Rupert Murdoch is using his Faux News to drumbeat the "threat" - to protect his rich friends' financial interests.
And then US soldiers will be sent to fight and die - for oil. Again.

Venezuela is absolutely no threat whatsoever. We purchase a modicum of oil from that country, but it really wouldn't seriously negatively impact us were we to quit buying their oil.
Chavez is free to say what he wants to about us, but I wonder what he might say if our money stops coming into his country....

Fox is the single worst news station you could watch. They're extreme bias amazes me, but people still watch them and take them as a valid news source.
Its not really freedom of speech, when you just get to hear the owners thoughts, opinions, and point of view on these issues.
