I have a shirt that smells like moth balls. How do I get that smell out of the clothing?

I purchased the shirt off of Ebay and it must of been in storage or something because I have washed it twice, it has soaked and everything and the smell just won't come out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wash it with detergent and then rinse ,apply about a cup of vinegar to your rinse water cycle and then see if that helps . if not i would throw it away it may never get the smell out . good luck .

Wash on delicate and when you get to the rinse, add some vinegar to the rinse water and let it sit for a while.Then air dry if you can.The sun and air takes the smell out.Hope this helps...

Try hanging it out in the sun to dry. Do this with the garment inside out, so it doesn't fade the good side of the garment...I've also heard of putting a garment to dry on top of a fan with some dryer sheets underneath....

try adding baking powder to the wash.. it neutralizes odors..

also try bleach (color safe if its colored)

wash in warm water or hot water by itself..

use fabric softener and hang it outside to dry...

if that doesnt work bring it to a cleaner and get it done professionally
