Adultery is adultery no matter who is committing it. But I agree there does seem to be sort of double-standard concerning women who have extra-marital affairs. The whore label is very quickly thrown on them. Women are attacked more fiercely by the media. It's been that way since the beginning of time.

Karma, in the form of divorce settlements.

Men never get loads of cash from women who display infidelity in the marriage. Women always get stuff. Men just get emotionally warped.

When a woman has sex with many men she's called a S|ut. Men are called studs when they're man-whores. There's a reasoning behind this. Sex is emotional for women but physical for men. So when a woman does it there's almost always a motive, with men it's usually 'damnit what was i thinking.' type of deal. It's not an excuse, just the way life is. Again, the insult for men is having to send an alamoney check every month and not living in the house he paid for. I would gladly swap and have consistant financial security and be called a bad word then the opposite. Gladly. Also, when a man cheats on his wife he's a dog and everyone's glad that he gets what he deserves. Not so much with women. When she cheats everyone points at the husband and says well why was she cheating? you weren't doing what you're supposed to at home were you? Men can't win, your statements are completely wrong. Sorry.

My ex-wife's adultery was all but ignored. Therefore, I can't agree with you. Though I do see a bit of your point. I think we're losing a bit of the double standard as women's affairs catch up to men's. However, this is not a good thing. I'm hoping the point that you are wanting to make is we should be just as upset when men have affairs and not that we shouldn't be so upset when women do.

Men set the rules
Women have the children
men can have many women and show nothing
a woman can have one affair and produce another man's child
it is not right for anyone to have an affair
it is hurtful
and damages a relationship

U want the truth here it is..its not very nice for a guy to cheat on his missis especially if they in a serious relationship but a guy is easily able to screw women and not care or even be attracted to them in any way and still love and appreciate his real girlfriend. On the other hand nature made it so that a woman is more picky about who she mates with so there has to be some connection and liking there for her and thats a much more serious form of cheating. Thats why its sort of ok for men but if women do it they are 2 faced slutts

Society is rougher on women than men. Look at appearance for one, society expects women to look, act, and wright a certain way to the extreme. All society expects men to be is big and strong. That's one example out of many. U.S. Women haven't even had the right to vote for 100 years, men have! That's just another example. Women are just expected to be cute and innocent, which adultery isn't either one, therefore women are bashed most! Hope this helps my friend!

I know I'm late to this party but cheating is cheating ^ all answers up there have some truth - the double standard yes + women cheat emotionally and men physically yes+ women cheat for a connection missing in the relationship ( most likely it will end up in divorce) and men cheat cuz they like to c** (most likely will be gorgiven by wife) that being said - men don't love like women at all. As far as alamony that goes both ways -and not all women want it ! My advice ? Think like a man f+++ em all - quite literally Lol Lol

Both bad things that shouldn't be done. Women can go around dating anyone because a lot of men will want her. Whilst if a man does it he has to make another girl attracted to her making more of an effort. Women don't have to put as much effort in to find a man.
This is what I believe anyway

It's because of the ruling classes of mid evil Europe. Power and property went to the first born son and unless the kid came out with features that were Avenue sleet not of the father, i.e. different skin color, crocked nose when that's not in either families line and so forth, they would be hard pressed to disprove the kid was theirs. Granted they could not claim the child was theirs but that carried social reprociddiond as well. In truth, the ruling class could do very little to assure the next generation was light so they turned to public shaming. If a woman was found out and eventually just accused, it brought a black mark against her, her resulting child and her family.

ThTs the nobility but what about the rest of us you ask? Monkey see monkey do. The nobility were the trend setters of the day and deep down, the common people wanted to be like them so they adopted their traditions. If you were a common woman and stepped out you were labeled a whore. Don't you love traditions now?

The "double standard" still lives; women are considered objects or possessions of men; and when they do the same stupid things that men do they get tagged with an insulting name. The good old boys club makes it happen.
