I have a friend that wants to do an engine swap-gas to diesel.Any help would be appreciated!?

He has a 77' GMC 4x4 long bed. He would like to put in a Cummins 5.9L, or a Cat C7. The truck has 44 in. from firewall to radiator. Can he do this, and what kind of welding or modifications must he do. Also are there kits available?

LOL,,,,,,, 5 years and 10,000 dollars the junk man pays him 50 bucks to take it all to the crusher.
