Hey everyone, I heard that you can unclogg drains with baking powder or soda. Anyone ever heard about it or even tried it? Does it work? How much of baking soda/powder do I need to use? And is that the only ingredient that I will have to use? Thanks

Vinegar and baking soda; equal parts. Pour the soda down then the vinegar, wait a while after it's done bubbling, and flush with hot water. I also use this as a monthly drain cleaner. You may want to consider doing that; it helps to prevent the clogs in the first place and is a lot cheaper than the dain cleaners you buy!

Baking soda and vinigar keep drains clean. Two table spoons of baking soda and 1/2 cup of white vinigar in the drain every 3 months will do the trick. It will not unclog a clogged drain but will keep it clean enough so you never have to again.

Pour 1 cup baking soda or salt and 1 cup vinegar down the drain with 3 cups boiling water. Allow to sit for an hour. Flush with cold water.

I use baking soda and vinegar to clean mine on a regular basis. I'm not sure about the amounts. I just dump some of the powder down and the the vinegar then when it is done foaming I add a little more vinegar let it foam up some more and then rinse it down with some warm water.

Drano...Please do not use unless it's a last resort.... It will eat away your pipes (If they are metal) and your sink if (it is metal). I had to have a stainless steel sink replaced when I dumped Drano in the drain.. It ate little tiny holes in the sink and it didn't work on the drain.... Go to the store and buy yourself some regular household bleach. It will not harm plumbing.. and it's cheap. Let it sit an hour or so and then try and run water through the drain... I run bleach down my drains every month to keep them running clear... My friend is a plumber and he suggested it over Drano...Less expensive and not as dangerous...Good luck
