Best, on the basis of my personal experience would be McAfee Internet Security Suite 2007 and McAfee VirusScan. But there are other equally good antivirus suites like BitDefender, Kaspersky and my all time favorite Nod32. If its a free solution u are looking for then download AOL Active Virus Shield as its based on Kaspersky engine with AVG free. AVG might have compatibility issues.

Kaspersky,Bitdefender,AOL,AVG,Nod32 use very less system resources. Mcafee uses moderate and Norton would be very heavy on the RAM.

it depends on what u do on your computer. some anti virus protections introfire with games so do your home work.

Norton is good, it's a bit of a CPU hog but of all the antivirus out there, I haven't seen any work as well as Norton. You can get free / cheap antivirus too, but like the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
