I used to have a cat named "Tiger" when I was in junior high. Then we had one named "Frisky" when our girls were younger, but she got run over when we moved. (I think she was trying to go back to our old house!) I developed an allergy to cats ever since we've moved though...

I had a German Shepherd / Australian Shepherd mix named Chelsea. She disappeared when she got to be about 10-11 years old, so I'm thinking she might have wondered into the woods to die, because she would never stay away from the house for more than a couple of hours if she got out of the yard. She'd always come back & lay on the porch until I got home.

I also had an American Saddlebred horse named Houdini for a couple of years. He got colic and died about 4 years ago. I cried like a baby - I'd wanted a horse ever since I was a little girl, and Houdini's personality was awesome!

The three cats in my life time that i have had that stand out the most in my memory: Friskie, a black/gray and white manx with a tail. When i was younger my parents (at mom's) wanted me to stop sucking my thumb and knew i wanted a cat so they told me if i stopped sucking my thumb for 4 weeks i could get a cat. So i picked Friskie out of a litter of purebreads, but he was the runt/rejected one. He lived to be 12 yrs old.
Then there is Patches, a calico kitty. Got her when i was 7 (at my fathers) and she lived for 17 yrs.
Then Precious, after the first Patches died i got another one and she had Precious and two other kittens and got outside and was killed by a fishercat when they were about 2-3 weeks old. I bottle fed them every hour on the hour and Precious was the only one that lived. He was my baby, he was a mix of his mother who had medium length black fur with patches of orange and white and his daddy who was a gray/black/white maine coon with long fur. He ended up being an orange tiger with medium length fur. The stupid fishercat got him too :0(
I miss them all and don't have any cats right now, not until after we have our baby and she gets bigger.

I believe names should go with the beast (in this case a cat). I have a blue cat and I called him Mr. Mokey (just like smokey without the s.

My friend had children too little to the 's', so he became Mr. Mokey and not Mr. Smokey.
