It'll mess up your pillow if you put it in the washing machine. The stuffing inside will get clumpy and uneven making it a very uncomfortable pillow. If it really needs washing you can always give it a try on a very gentle cycle, but be prepared to buy a new pillow in case that doesn't work outl.

I put a decorator pillow (matches the sofa) in the washing machine and it ripped the seam and the stuffing leaked out.
Depends on the pillow. If it still has tags, follow that.

It's perfectly fine to put them in the washer as long as the tag instructions say machine washable. Feather and Down pillows are not machine washable. Always wash two together to keep the balance. Fluff and then pop them in the dryer.

You can wash anything as long as you take your time and do it right. When washing pillows make sure to even out the load,so it will spin properly.I would just fill washer and soak pillows in detergent and cold water, than set on spin, fill and let set for rinse, then spin again. The thing is the drying of them.Throw them in the dryer with some tennis balls and they will fluff back up.I take mine out and put in front of a fan overnite to be sure they are dry.hope this helps...

I have; I*ve washed both feather and foam; but you cannot put foam in the dryer because they may catch fire.
With feather pillows you have to squeeze, squeeze, and squeeze again then hang outdoors for a few days, shaking them and finally after a week or so you have a wonderful smelling pillow.

A pillow is intended to be used encased in a cover (usually with a printed design on it) which we in UK call a pillowcase. That way the pillow remains spotlessly clean and washing shouldn't be necessary. Have you been doing something naughty on your pillow?

Depends on the pillow.... I wash my regular bed pillows about once a month...In hot water and tumble to dry.... Mine ARE NOT down pillows...Mine are synthetic cheapies...So, if it rips or anything it's under $5 to replace..

As long as the tag says they are washable, yes. Some, like down pillows must be dry cleaned, but most you can wash and dry (on low).
