You are burning oil. If it only does this after start up and the amount is low, it's probably valve seals. If you can see blue smoke at any time (usually when accelerating), probably rings. Without knowing the history of that car, I would doubt the mileage is really only 65k, but if you're sure it is, how well has this been maintained? Toyota products are not known for problems like this at such low mileage. Until you get it fixed - check your oil frequently, and carry some with you in the trunk so you don't have to pay gas station prices for a quart now and then. Good luck!

Others have told you the causes for the blue, black, white smoke. My advice is to get it checked out as to the cause, since running the truck like this may cause more problems, like fouling the O2 sensors, messing up the cat converter, etc.

Time to get it in and get it fixed. good luck

your rings are wore out i am afraid, and its burning oil, make sure to keep your oil level up. when rings go it means ware in the engine, usually you will have to change the rings and pistons, major job indeed. but on the other hand it can continue for a long time once you keep oil in it.

i think a tune up is needed. exhaust should not be seen. if check engine light is on, more thorough service is needed. sometimes the quality of oil used is an issue. hope this helps. -peace-
