Well, it's not shyness, she/he is a type of person who doesn't often talk to friends and I mean he's/she's not shy but only she is quiet. What do you call this term?

Reserved is a word used to describe someone who holds things back, like for instance. Someone who always has something to say but doesn't because of fear of rejection or fear of humilation or they may not say because they don't want to be involved or in the middle. Or the word could describe someone who doesn't act upon things like in a fire they may walk while others run or they may not play games they want to because of any of the above reasons.

Some are described as being withdrawn or anti social which means they pretty much fear being around other people because of the lack of being understood.

Introverted- they don't feel a need to constantly fill up silences and to always give their in-put. I'm that way sometimes, where all I want to do is listen, either because I don't have anything to say or I'm really interested in what others are talking about. I like to just think about what's being said and don't always voice my opinions.
