I am setting up ICS in my home in which my PC will act as the server. I'm not using a router and would like to know if I can use a USB dongle to network my other PC's. If not what are my options?

Your proposed solution should work. Just make sure when you set up the wireless connection between your two computers that you set up in adhoc mode, not infrastructure mode. Adhoc mode is a wireless network between multiple computers. Infrastructure mode is when a wireless access point (i.e. wireless router) is a master for wireless client computers.

Adhoc mode is more buggy and less secure than Infrastructure mode, but it will allow you to set up your proposed solution. If you want added stability and security, then consider purchasing a wireless access point or router and connecting to the internet through the router.

Hope this helps.

Make life easier, just use a wireless router. It cost about $50-$60. Of course you will need the wireless USB adapter for the PC that will be far from the router.
