I go to the pool alot but i don't really swim laps. I just play around with my friends. Although we do race sometimes.

I would suggest searching under "calories burned" or something like that on google and a website should show up that has a full list of all activities (including leisurely swimming and competitive) and how many calories you burn according to your weight and the time spent doing the activity.

It has all kinds of actviities and you can choose which activity best dersrcibes your time in the pool. Probably Water Aerboics would be the best classification of playing with friends... But it's pretty general.

it all really depends on how much excercise you are actually putting into it. swimming is one of the best excercises for your body because you are fighting against the force of water and you have to use almost every muscle of your body
