Kind of a random question that doesn't really relate to my marriage, but someone I know. Do you or other married women you know ever look at another friend's husband and think to yourself...I wish he were my husband or..I wish my husband were more like him.

Tough question but, everybody fantasizes once in a while.
Think about how many people want to be with Paris, Brittany, Jessica etc. You know it won't happen but you wish. The main thing is as long as you don't act upon it!! Love the one your with!! (And keep your mouth shut if you do wish!!)

Ahhh... this hit a little close to home so I will answer it. My first marriage was terrible. It only lasted 1 1/2 months. I knew it wasn't going to last when I looked over at the best man during the ceremony (who was also a very good friend of mine) and wished I was marrying him instead of whom I was marrying. I would probably still be married, happily, but it's just not the way things were meant to be. Thank the Gods no one spent a fortune on that wedding.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side, it just looks that way.

I myself do not do that, because my husband and I are best friends and I married my soul mate, so there is not another husband or man that could be in my presence or I could see that I would say that. If you find yourself saying this maybe you married the wrong man, because you know sometimes we marry people who we are attracted to but that was not meant for us. We have to wait and marry who god has for us that way down the road years later when the honeymoon stage has worn off we don't find ourselves saying I wish he was more like this or that.

Married man answering: My question for you men is, just because your Wife isn't as attractive as your fav. porn stars, do she still turn you on? She certainly does. She's also had two children, and is extremely self-conscious about her body now, and think she looks terrible. However, every time she bends over I still get aroused, and I still think she's beautiful. I tell her, and she seems to ignore that or say 'you have to think that you're my husband'. You know what? I do not have to think that. But I do. I'm sure your husband is the same. Take his complements to heart, I'm sure they're genuine! Does it make you think less of your Wife? Not at all, there's no connection. I don't think men compare women as much as women compare men perhaps. Maybe its in a woman's nature to only want the 'best' man, whereas for a man, sexually, he wants all the hot women. That's a fancy way of saying that whether I think some porn star or angelina jolie is hot has no impact on how I think about my wife. I think she's hot, and I want her all the time! Do you think about these porn stars, with their awesome bodies while your having sex with your Wife? Never done that personally. I've tried fantasizing about other people a couple of times, mainly because I've heard other people say they did it, and wanted to see what it was like. Basically ... nope, I'm thinking about her. What is so great about porn? I wouldn't say is great. I'd rather have sex with my wife for sure. Sex + porn is fun for a change, its like being able to safely play at voyeurism/exhibitionism. Mainly I use porn because my sex drive is not being met. When it is, I only occasionally look at porn, and I guess its just an innate fascination. How does your Wife expect to live up to those porn stars? I don't know that there's anything to live up to. I guess contract size varies, but any reasonably attractie woman can be a porn star. You might better ask how your husband and I expect to live up to these porn star guys, who are massively equipped and can apparently go for hours :p

Sure i sometimes wish my husband would do some of the things that my friend's husband does, but I know that she wishes that her husband would do some of the stuff that my husband does.

There are times when I think I wish my husband would do that, or say that-but I would never wish for a different man.

I think that's a human thing.... because "the grass is greener..." syndrome, anyone can catch themselves thinking like that, but a mature person realizes that no one is without flaw and just because someone elses spouses seems "perfect" or better than your own doesn't mean they really are.

This is especially true when there's problems in the marriage - other people who don't have that particular problem will seem "better" but you have to remind your friend that those other spouses most likely have other problems they can't see.

No, I see other women looking at my husband and saying this. I am so lucky to have the husband I have. I would not want my husband to change one bit. He is perfect to me....

Sure, i dont know if it is natural to want what others have or not. I personally would not trade my husband, but i would change some of his personality. That's more along the lines of building the perfect mate.

Personally I do not. I don't look at other guys period. No, I am not religious or anything like that but, I look at it as I am married and have no desire to look at other men only my husband. P.S. We have been together for three years, so nothing new
