it is true not a myth all aircraft are rerouted and shipping not to go any where near it
they scientists seem to think it is a strong magnetic force that suckes them into a vortex like a tornado
no one will go near it to try and find out what happened i think they may have sent a mini sub at one time but not sure as i have seen so many stories over the years about it
and yes as one person asked it is a triangle of area near Bermuda

I grew up on a boat. Now, we're not talking about some 15' fishing boat that your dad keeps in the driveway, but a 48' sailing vessel. My dad made a buttload of money in the early 80's and we moved aboard for 3 1/2 years and just sailed around to see what we could see. Before we moved aboard, we completely rebuilt the boat and replaced anything and everything that showed signs of wear. New engine, electronics, batteries, sails, all navigation equipment, complete refit of the galley and quarters, the works. For all intents and purposes, this was a brand new boat that happend to have a 12 year old hull. While sailing in the Bahamas, we would occasionally have the compass go off by as much as 15 degrees for a few hours. That may not sound like much, but when you have nothing but water completely surrounding you and there isn't anywhere to "pull over to ask directions" it can get dicey about what you might run into. A 3 ton steel barge-mooring bouy will drop a small craft like ours to the bottom in seconds. One time in particular, we lost ALL electrical power for a little over an hour. We performed maintenance on the batteries weekly and I checked them personally. They read to be fully charged, however we couldn't even get the smallest light to come on anywhere. The main switch and all of the breakers were "on" but we had NO power. Fortunately, being a sailing vessel, it didn't make that big a difference in us getting anywhere. A decent sailor doesn't even need a rudder and can steer by using the sails. But still, we couldn't use any of the electronics that told us where we were. After about an hour, the power came back. We didn't make any changes to anything (although we had checked literally every circuit and switch in the entire system) but it was as if the electricity had just been allowed to work again. What causes it to happen? I have absolutely no idea. Is it true that strange things happen in the BT? I have absolutely no doubt. I've seen it.

I am a scientific-minded person but I have read much on this subject and I have to admit that it is a puzzling thing that so many disappearences have occured in this area. Is there a bend in time that planes and ships are passing through? I am not a sensationalist so I am being quite serious. Many strange things: Flight 19, the Marine Sulfer Queen, the Mary Celeste. I wish I had the opportunity to undertake a private investigation of this strange place to see if I could reveal some answers.

i think some might have been found right?

ah, but anyway, my theory is that
planes might have crashed into the sea, at high speeds, such that everything was ripped apart on impact, or disintegrated by the pressure of the sea.

im not sure how this works for ships though.

it is being said that huge clouds of methane are responceable for knocking planes out of the air, and taking away the boyances of ships.

I don't buy into that at all.I beleive, that the triangle is a gate to other dimensions and places. when the gate opens, weird conditions come about, drawing in any thing in it's perimiters.

it's more of a rectangle really, and if you go to the discovery channel website ( www.discovery.com ) and do a simple search there will be tons of info, i have spent time there myself, another option would be to move to florida, and do lots of sailing, and find out first hand.

Well I read that the bermuda triangle is a portal to another dimension, but we don't have the knowledge to use it so the people who are lost went through it entirely by accident & of course don't know how to get back.

It's a silly legend based on an area which has strong sea currents (the gulf stream/ N.A.D.) and unique weather patterns, which can strike surprisingly fast.
any wreck would be dragged under and swept away by NAD (which runs at about 4 knots) very quickly.

the Miami coastguard does not believe that anything SUPERNATURAL takes place in the area called 'the bermuda triangle'.
but they do acknowledge the extreme NATURAL conditions which can frequently catch out, even experienced sailors in the area.

{edit - to sunny - you are a nutter. people do travel through the area every day. When I flew to miami a few years back, the pilot make a jokey reference to the fact that we were flying through it. - also one of the triangle edges is supposed to touch Miami....... a busy port.
the area between bermuda and florida is a very VERY busy waterway..... i dont know where you got the idea that people are banned from travelling through it}

{edit again} - opening poster wrote:

Utter Hogwash, bunk, utterly untrue. I have no idea what orifice you are pulling your 'facts' out of.
A little thought would go a long way - how do you think trade is carried out between Florida, Bermuda and the Bahamas.
get some sense and stop being so gullible... see what the US navy says about the 'bermuda triangle' here:
http://www.sartori.com/nhc/frames/faqs/faq8-1.htm
notice they say it is 'imaginary'... they do not recognise it and they do not suggest that people have to avoid it
