i've heard that people went missing because the corals there produced a lot of gas, and the pressure caused machinery to go haywire. also, some electromagnetic force made the compasses and stuff act strange. is this true? are there any other theories? (besides the alien one of course)

The Bermuda Triangle Mystery

Can you ever imagine that an oil-based industry can some day easily be replaced by a natural-gas-based one?

In an article in the Sunday Times, Norman Miller has stated that the conditions responsible for the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle ( which lies between the West Indies islands and the south-eastern coast of USA could provide the answer to the world’s energy crisis. The energy source is methane gas and there are no alien spaceships or suburbs of Atlantis here. The myth of the Bermuda Triangle, the mysterious disappearances and strange events, has generated much interest all over the world through the years. Charles Berlitz’s book on the subject, published in 1974, sold nearly 20 million copies in 30 languages. Ships, boats, and even aeroplanes are all said to have disappeared in this area and all the mystery has been attributed to extraterrestrials. But scientists now have an explanation for these phenomena and the cause is not extraterrestrial but chemical. It goes by the name of methane gas hydrate, which is methane (created by decomposing organic debris) that has been entombed in an ice crystalline. Conditions are ideal for the formation of this gas in areas of permafrost. Another area is the deep sea floor where the pressure and the temperature are right for the creation of this gas.

It was only in 1981 that a geochemist, Richard McIver, went public on a link between methane gas blowouts and the Bermuda Triangle myth. He stated that massive landslides often occur along the North American continental shelf, which lies to the north of the Bermuda Triangle. Such land slumps can occur over a large area bringing down huge boulders which rupture the layer of gas hydrate beneath the sea floor, freeing the gas that is trapped beneath the hydrate ‘cap’ and also liberating huge amounts of methane trapped within the hydrate itself. The moment a methane gas pocket ruptures a vast reservoir of gas suddenly surges from the seabed, rising up in a huge plume before erupting on the surface within seconds and without warning. A ship caught in such a blowout would be doomed; the water beneath it would suddenly become much less dense, sinking it in a matter of moments. The vessel would plunge into the depths, where it would be covered as sediment disturbed by the blow out settles back on the sea floor. In fact, planes too could fall prey to such a deadly fallout.

The US geological Survey has estimated that just two small areas off the coasts of North and South Carolina, which are a part of the Bermuda Triangle, contain about 70 times the quantity of gas consumed annually in USA. The sea bed and the areas of permafrost are therefore storehouses of a great energy source. It has been estimated that just 1% of gas hydrate is equivalent to half the present conventional gas reserves. But the bad news is that methane is a greenhouse gas and it is vulnerable to blowouts when drillings go wrong. It is only stable under narrow temperature and pressure conditions and would decay due to global warming. We will have to wait and see whether it gives us energy to burn or it burns us up instead!

a number of good solutions so a methods. united statesJupiter grew to become right into a collier en path from Venezuela to U.S. East Coast (Norfolk?) and disappeared and not utilising a hint. examination of the wreckage shows the stringers have been heavily corroded via coal with a intense sulfur content textile (Hydrocarbon + sulphate + H20 = H2SO4; sulfuric acid). from time to time a hurricane at sea can create super waves that proceed to shuttle super distances after the hurricane is over. (no longer a Tsunami, however the comparable concept.) The Bermuda Triangle is placed the place the sea floor rises to the continental shelf becoming a bowl. those hurricane generated waves rebound and are compounded interior the bowl and alter into "rogue waves" that would swamp a huge deliver. A theory has been proposed that the comparable element occurred to the Edmund Fitzgerald interior the super Lakes. There are a number of 'devil's Triangles' worldwide huge, however the Bermuda Triangle gets the main press coverage specifically as a results of fact of Flt. 19. No, rogue waves do no longer clarify that incident.

The answer is: there is no mystery. I mean, yes some of the disappearances of vessels have not yet been adequately explained, but there is no mystery about the Bermuda Triangle because it does not exist. I can find no two sources that agree on exactly where this triangle is, how large it is or anything.

The simple fact is that oceanic vessels and aircraft disappear, sink or crash all over the world, but they are reported in popular news outlets when it happens in the region of this ill-defined zone because of the myth. The proportion of vessels that are lost there is no greater than anywhere else. Areas with greater oceanic traffic actually have more lost ships, purely because there are more ships around to sink.

The fact is: accidents happen.

The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a region of the Atlantic Ocean in which a number of aircraft and surface vessels have disappeared in what are said to be circumstances that fall beyond the boundaries of human error or acts of nature. Some of these disappearances have been attributed to the paranormal, a suspension of the laws of physics, or activity by extraterrestrial beings by popular culture

The boundaries of the Triangle vary with the author; some stating its shape is akin to a trapezium covering the Straits of Florida, the Bahamas, and the entire Caribbean island area east to the Azores; others add to it the Gulf of Mexico. The more familiar, triangular boundary in most written works has as its points Miami, Florida; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and the mid-Atlantic island of Bermuda, with most of the accidents concentrated along the southern boundary around the Bahamas and the Florida Straits.

The area is one of the most heavily-sailed shipping lanes in the world, with ships crossing through it daily for ports in the Americas and Europe, as well as the Caribbean Islands. Cruise ships are also plentiful, and pleasure craft regularly go back and forth between Florida and the islands. It is also a heavily flown route for commercial and private aircraft heading towards Florida, the Carribean, and South America from points north.

The Gulf Stream ocean current flows through the Triangle after leaving the Gulf of Mexico; its current of five to six knots may have played a part in a number of disappearances. Sudden storms can and do appear, and in the summer to late fall the occasional hurricane strikes the area. The combination of heavy maritime traffic and tempestuous weather makes it inevitable that vessels could founder in storms and be lost without a trace — especially before improved telecommunications, radar, and satellite technology arrived late in the 20th century.

The answer to the "mystery" is that there is no mystery at all. A lot of what has been said about the so-called "Bermuda Triangle" has been lies, or distortions, like the yacht that went out in clear weather (it was stormy), that experienced pilots wouldn't get lost (yes they do), etc. For a REAL mystery try looking up the "Great Lakes Triangle" instead.

There is no mystery. The idea that bizarre things happen in the "Bermuda Triangle" was concocted to sell books and provide excitement for tourists.

According to U.S. Coast Guard records, the Bermuda Triangle is a no more dangerous part of the ocean than any other.

This is my own belief from Bible study. It is only a believe held by some Christians. Doubt it can be proven, but we dont need to prove things. Thats Gods job and it will come.
There are the forces you mentioned about the Bermuda Triangle and they are very real. Specials have been made about this place. But you know in the Bible where we are told the demons were cast into the sea. Still happens today. I believe and as I said many others do too, that there a certain places where many of the demons have congregated in large numbers, and they have a forcefield there that drags ppl down. If one is not familiar with curses, generational spirits and bondage, they will think I am looney tunes from making that statement. But it doesnt matter what others think. God tells us about bondage and evil spriits and its real, whether anyone believes it or Not. HE also tells us how to be free of those things, by obeying Him, and asking curses to be broken, in the name of Jesus Christ IT is the only way to healing and full deliverance. If you have ever seen anyone or yourself, be delivered from the bondage THE HOLD the devil has on someone, then you will know just what I am talking about. You can feel the chains on you and you are like powerless over them, until you call on Jesus Chrsit to break the bondage of chains wrapped around you in His Holy Name, and watch as you are just set free Things that used to haunt you and bother you, no longer do. But you can bet the devil will later come at you again, and try to pull you down again, and we allow it thru disobedeince To God and His precious word, His love letter to us. Obedience leads to blessing and disobedience leads to curse. Few ppl will understand that if they arent pentacostal, full gospel, belieiving in all of the Bible and knowing we must obey it to hold onto the free gift of salvation from the Lord. YOu cant just believe, even the devil believes.... Come on now.
There is a supernatural that so few understand or believe in as real. But it is thre, whether we know it , accept it at all.
THere is a 24/7 battle for our very souls going on 365 days a year. God is wanting us and drawing us to Him, and the devil tries to pull us to him and to rebell against God. When we hear the devil, we disobey, even if we dont know there is a devil, we are still obeying him and his plan for none of us to be saved, just like he is. He lost his salvation thru disobedience to God. ITs still the same way today folks.
As far as the Bermuda Triangel situation, only Jesus can break that curse too. We are told to not go on the devils ground, so I wouldnt be anywhere near that place, even to study it. We arent to fear the devil, but God gave us minds and He expects us to use them. Dont go on the devils ground. Stay in obedience with the Lord. Know Him intimately, and you have nothing to fear. Be sure you have receiving healing and deliverence from the Lord and that you stay in obedience to keep yourself clean. We must be living Holy , Pure lives of righteousness to be saved, and be like Jesus. Knowing or loving Him is not enuff. Its necessary of course. But we must love Him enough to obey Him, as He obeyed the Father, even unto His own death.
Press on with Jesus. He really is the ONLY way. By the way, the aliens are demons also Fallen angels, demonic. There are so many books out there on this and they use Bible to proove it all. Just stick with the word of God and you cant ever go wrong.
