My friend went through a divorce 2yrs ago. Her ex got remarried(to his mistress) and is fighting for sole custody of their ten year old son. Her orginial divorce seems to be doing just enough to prevent malpractice. She need a lawyer who will fight tooth and nail. He was the custodial parent of their two teenage sons. The ex had been in a psych ward during their marriage and her present lawyer did not bring this up in the original divorce hearing because he said that would have no barring on the case. (If her ex wins sole custody, can he move to Canada? Those are his plans.) Please help. It would be great if you presonnaly used the lawyer.

Haven't lived in VA for 10 years, but check on lawyer.com, which gives a track record of cases won vs. lost--at least it used to. Also when interviewing attorneys, don't be afraid to ask what their track record is.

Sometimes it's not getting the attorney with the best reputation, but getting an attorney who is passionate about the case works best.
