Please note that the last button on the inner left side of the shirt has no matching buttonhole at the opposite shirt panel. It is meant to be a SPARE BUTTON that is readily available as replacement in case any of the other buttons get detached and lost. It saves one the trouble of looking around or going to a.store to buy a single button of the same size, shape and shade. In some buton-up shirts the spare button is at the lower portion of the inner side seam. Jackets also usually have this spare button. Shirt manufacturers should be commended for thinking of this small matter that matters most for our convenience.

I was always under the impression that it was a spare in case another button fell off.... Then you could remove it and sew it back in the place of the lost one. That way you are not always looking for a matching button.

It's actually an extra so that if one of the buttons you use to hold the shirt together gets lost, you'll have a matching replacement. If the buttons on the cuffs are a different size, you'll usually have two - one for the placket and one for the cuffs.

It is a spare button in case you lose or break one. It is kept there so that it is easily accesible and you don't lose it. If it just came with a loose button you would probably throw it away or something, so it is a good solution and nice thing for clothing companies to include, b/c I have broken more than one button in my day!?

I study your tale the day previous, and provided suggestion and grievance; i don't know whether you study my thoughts relatively, yet most of the changes which you have made interior the tale adjust to what I provided. i think of that the diversities made do advance your tale. (Do you propose for the age discrepancy/ the mendacity to be critical on your tale line? i might decide that to be so, because of the fact you extremely empasize that function.) i think of which you have used the words candy and sweetie too many situations in that final paragraph; a glossary is often helpful for heading off repetition. You do ought to reread for errors. nonetheless, in my opinion, your rewriting has produced a greater appropriate establishing on your tale, plus your taking the time to respond actual to the opinions demonstrates which you're able to employing different's comments constructively!

It's the spare.
Like keeping the spare tyre in the back of the car, you keep the spare button at the bottom of the shirt....
