Are you pointing your toes? Although a pointed toe makes a better kick an excessively pointed toe may cause cramping. Try relaxing your ankles and feet while you kick, that may help. If that's not the case you may be feeling the affects of wearing new shoes all day or being on your feet alot outside the pool. If your feet are already tired the excess activity may irritate them. If you don't see a difference when you relax or you continue to get cramps in your feet, have someone knowledgeable evaluate your stroke and watch your feet to see if they can pinpoint what might be causing the cramping.

They say eating bananas helps with leg cramps while running so you could try adding more potassium-rich foods to your diet.

At any rate, don't let this get the best fo you! If it get severe, see a doctor.

Good luck!!!

What Kristy said.

Milk is also rich in potassium. If you really want to make sure you are getting enough potassium use Morton's "salt substitute" sometimes instead of salt, it's potassium chloride.

I used to stand and roll my foot over a tennis ball to get rid of the cramp.
