Well since you said Democratic then it gets harder to define. If you said Democracy then name one that is, since the U.S. is a REPUBLIC. I would say that Vatican City(which is technically a Country) isn't democratic. The Cardinals choose the Pope and then he runs the whole thing. There are other levels that don't get any say in who will be the Pope. So is it really Democratic? Some of the Cardinals weren't even there when the last Pope was elected. I believe the Nation of Georgia still uses only the Royal Family. Iran isn't really democratic. Sure they have elections for a President BUT the Supreme Ruler Ayatollah STILL has final say. It doesn't matter what anyone else says he can veto anything he wants.
As to some given- Russia has a PRESIDENT. England has the Prime Minister. They vote for the PARTY that will control, so although they don't vote directly for people in that way they are still rather democratic.

Sure, there are. Saudi Arabia is a Kingdom which only has Elections for Government at the Local level. So the Country as a whole is not a Democracy. I think another example of a system like this would be the Sutanate of Brunei.
Actually there is no nation on earth that is a "True Democracy" most only have some form of Democracy in their system of Government. Like the US, where actually what the Constitution says is more important than the principal of Democracy. (The Electoral College) Actually, many of our founders feared the idea of a "pure Democracy"
The UK is a Constitutional Monarchy, where Democratic principles over time have become part of their system.
In Iran the recent election they claimed was "Free" but the Religious leaders said who you could choose to vote for. Not very Democratic.

someone once said that democracy is a word invented by those who have the power to make the people believe they have a choice.
It sounds better than dictatorship too.
On a more practical basis:
Usa is an elective oligarchy (meaning that who has more power/money gets elected.
UK is a constitutional monarchy (as a lot of other countries which I will not state)
France is a presidential republic
Israel is a theocracy (Iran too)
etc. etc.
Maybe a good question would be :" which country is democratic"

Some are, but to make people think otherwise they put the word Democratic in the official name of their country (i.e. The Socialist Democratic Republic of Vietnam).
