Because the FICA score is based on activity on your account, not how responsible you are to not carry a balance. If you are worried about finding a home-loan or a car-loan, there are lenders out there who will loan you money based on a collective look at your financial situation. He is a good financial guy who detests credit cards and shows you how to live without relying on them. He is a firm believer in paying cash, and he has a list of people who will provide loans that don't rely on a FICA score. In other words, don't judge yourself by your FICA score, because it is a number generated off of the use of credit, not personal responsibility. Dave Ramsey is a great encourager and will give you some good insight on how to view your finances.
