"This has gotta be broken."? And it never really is. It just feels like it.

Yes similar thing has happened to me. once when I was getting on the train I fell down coz somebody pushed me. at first I thought I had broken my leg. there were no bleeding, but it was badly inflated (the size of a big orange) . I was furious and scared but I had to stand it for half an hour in the train. when I got home I felt that it didn't seem like a broken leg coz I could walk easily although the area was deadly painful.
it has passed more than a year but the scar is still there . I wish I had had a doctor seen it at that time.

Yes one time I got my little toe caught around the end of a chair leg and didn't know it and moved and it pulled it and it snapped back and I thought for sure it was broken but all it did was swell up and turn blue and hurt for like 3 days. I fussed at myself when it happened. I said, " I got to watch what I am doing more often." Do you ever fuss at yourself after you've done it?

wish you have an iron, reason you are going to need it. Set it on steam and positioned a towel on suited of the dent. Get the iron particularly warm with as lots steam as you will get to come again out of it. positioned the iron on the towel over the dent and pass away it for 5 seconds . Take the iron off and consider if the dent is long gone. If no longer repeat till it works. do no longer pass away the iron on the rug too long or you will possibly be able to burn or soften it based on the cloth. good luck !!!

Thats exactly what happened to me about 3 mths ago. I ran over my toe with a chair, and the nail turned a dark green. It is really gross, and when it happened, i was sure it was broken (but it wasn't)

Jammed them at least 100 times, but after about the 5th time, I knew it wasn't broken.

No, actually I jammed my toe one time and it really was broken. Not much they do for a broken toe, though.

I have, I have a solid wood coffee table and I put it against the wall so I don't do that again. It makes me want to kick it again through the tears and anger. lol.
