Hello I watched episode 23 (Through The Looking Glass, Pt 2) of Lost last night and am now a bit confused.
I had a look on the lost website and that was the last episode for Season 3.
It was the end bit that confused me where Jack meet's up with Kate at the airport and say's they made a mistake and have to go back!!!!
Does this mean they were all rescued and Lost is now over or is there more to come!!! If there is more to come then I don't see where they can take it now and if that was the last one then what a crap ending as what happened to all the others?
All (helpful) answers welcome =)

It was a "flashforward" rather than a flashback. I think the whole point was (1) Locke doesn't want anyone to leave the Island and seems to be trying to keep them there by any means necessary; (2) the Others told Jack and the Castaways that the people on the boat and Naomi were not to be trusted - this was apparently true since she said she was there at Penny's request to find Desmond, but Penny knew nothing about her or the boat; and (3) Jack is apparently trying to get back to the Island because he says they made a mistake by leaving. So it's like the big Lost cliffhanger - why is it a mistake to leave the Island, how did Locke know it's a mistake, and who the he** are the people on the boat.
FYI: The show has not only been renewed, but ABC announced that they now have an "end point", in 2010. Apparently they finally figured out exactly where they were going with the show and have plans to write shows that head in that direction.

Don't worry, Lost is contracted for another two seasons. Indeed the season finale had a flash-forward, but I'm really wondering if that's going to be held as cannon. Also, will the next season have all flash-forwards? Will everyone wind up as a failure when they're rescued?
The show can't end yet as there are too many questions still remaining, such as who/what are Jacob, what's the smoke creature, why do people heal so quickly, and why do pregnant women die on the island, why didn't the stateside branch of the Dharma Initiative come looking for their colony? Why was the Swan hatch not purified with the rest of the Initiative.
So don't worry, there are still plenty of unanswered questions left and two more seasons to do it in. Lets just hope that this upcoming season starts off better than the last one did!

Apparently there's going to be 3 more series for us to get even more confused with, and it's not going to finish til 2010!
From what i've read about it all, they weren't rescued at all, and Jack and Kate have gone into the future! Not quite sure how that happened, but if there's going to be more of them, they're gonna have to explain what actually happened. And I know there are going to be less episodes per season.

No Lost isn't over, and it won't be over for a few years to come. What they had in these episodes were flash-forwards instead of flashbacks and we were seeing of what is going to happen to Jack in the future.
The flash-forwards let you know that they are going to get rescued but jack obviously is unable to hand things in the ordinary world and wants to go back to the Island

Twas looking into the future, when those 2 are off ths island. Jack is regretting leaving the isl.and as obviously something bad happened when they did. Kate does regret it but is ok with it. Jack is insisting that they return

some people are saying that the final flash forward may have been like an alternate reality, because we all know jack's dad is dead but in the flash forward, jack is on about how he guaruntees his dad is more drunk than him. excellent season finale, and made up for a season full of just waffle really. anyone know when its coming back?

They have a contract for either two or three more years...didn't you hear Jack saying they need to go back? Have you ever heard of foreshadowing?? There is much more lost to come! rest assured
