Deprived from public support of the Paletinians, and relying on the backing of Israel, the USA, and some European countries, will Fatah succeed, and will this mean democracy?

Democracy? This is far from being democracy..We are forcing the Palestinians to accept our choice, while they elected someone else. How is this democracy?
No,I doubt that Fatah will succeed...They had many chances, and just like Hamas they proved irresponsible to rule Palestine...And unfortunately we didn't even gave them a chance to see if they could have done something. We preferred to isolate them...Yes,another proof of Western democracy...

Depends on what you mean by succeed. They seem to have the force to stay in power all on their own. And, like you say, they now have some backing. If you think it will lead to democracy, it is only pretend or vain hope.
I think it kicks the can down the road, so maybe some good will happen.

The rest of the world can support it all it wants, but if the people of Palestine support Hamas rather than Fatah, Fatah will fail.

No. The same kind of crazy muslim zealots are taking over, like they did in Afghanistan. The crazies fight to the death and don't give up.
The only way to defeat Hamas is by military force. Drive them out of the area. That is not the politically correct thing to do, so don't expect it to happen.
Hamas was elected by the people, into the government. They got what they voted for.

The Palestinian people have voted.

They would rather have war with Israel than peace and their own country.

So let them reap what they have sown.
