Im a 16 year old guy almost and my waist isn't vertical or close to being so, it kind of curves inward then out some. I was wondering if this is normal or if I'll grow out of it.

Male and female anatomy is a lot more similar than most people think. The idea that men are 'naturally' more cylindrical, and women are 'naturally' more hourglass-shaped, is a myth.

It's a popular myth, which is why most men's trousers fit so badly. they are made for an 'average' cylindrical man, who is actually very rare.

Bad postural habits ARE 'gendered'. Men and women move differently; men use their waist less than women when they walk, because they don't want to seem 'effeminate'. However, this habit makes more men put on weight round the middle as they age ('apple-shaped'), instead of developing bigger hips ('pear-shaped'), as women typically do. Pear-shaped people (of either gender) are healthier than apple-shaped.

If you are too skinny to call yourself either pear-shaped or apple-shaped, then count yourself lucky; your health is better for it. And if you are not a 'typically male' shape, then keep up the good work; you may well live longer, as women typically do.

This is generally a feature of women, because their hips are wider to cope with pregnancy. Perhaps you have higher levels of female hormones than is natural.

Or perhaps it is a dietary issue, you may be malnutritioned.

If you're very thin, this will happen. Look at a picture of a skeleton - you have ribs and a pelvis - you just probably don't have much meat in between.

Most of us work hard to get a figure somewhat like that. Congrats!
