Doctor's have to go to school for 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school, 3 years of internship, and more years if specializing. It can cost $100,000 or more. The insurance and equipment used by doctor's is also very expensive. Mechanics don't have to spend anywhere near as much money to get trained, and because lives are not necessarily at stake because of what a mechanic does their insurance would be much cheaper.

I asume your talking about the hour labor rate that a service station charges. If this is the case let me explain that the hour labor rate that you are paying at your service station doesnt go directly to the tec...it goes to...tools, training, the facilty, etc...usually the tecnicians make any were from 15%-25% of that fee depending on there skill level...so when a labor price is low id ask my self what am i getting for a skill level
