Yes. A constant battle . The world ouside is very demanding in the self as also on the personality that I am . Whenever there is a discordanr note between the two I am in pain and the self and the "I " both fight for their supremacy.

The problem does not exist when I have to take decision all by myself . here the self and I seem to merge and I am happy.

But often I have to play different roles in my day to day life... father ,,husband , friend , boss .... . I am forced , many times , to shelve my "self" and act as "I " . This does not allow me to have a sound sleep. I take time to get over the internal disturbance.

I am at war with the forces of good and evil, my mind often overrun by the dark horses of apocalyptic terror. Example, this morning I awoke, walked into the kitchen and poured a cup of coffee and there on the counter was a plate of chocolate chip cookies. At once my mind was caught up in the conflict, should I have one?? "NO, NO, eat them all". After a short skirmish, the battle was over and the plate was bare.

As I've aged, those 'battles' have become much less frequent. They are, now, merely unpleasant memories!
