Someone being gay isn't shocking. Whats shocking is a politician brave enough to cross party lines to do what he feels is right.

BOTH major parties are suffering from crediblity problems. US citizens (even the more non-political ones) are becoming very aware, neither party does what's in the best interest of the US. Republican politicians suffer this more only because their screw-ups are more recent and more serious, involving the deaths of thousands of US soldiers

As long as candidates are owned by corporations before they even GET to the office, only means we as a nation have to do something to bringTRULY representative government back to the US. If rejecting the "Two Party" system the US has is the only way to do that, then so be it.

Was Bloomberg ever a Republican,I mean really? There is room for many viewpoints in any political party, and the day that there isn't that political party will fail, but I'm not aware of anything the guy believes in that even begins to be in line with anything the Republican party believes in. He is nothing more than an opportunist who goes with whatever gives him the most, the only conservative ideals the man has ever held to are those that benefit him,for instance I'm sure he's very conservative when it comes to rules on business, but most likely only if they affect his ability to profit. Personally I think that while I may not agree with much of what the Republican party is doing right now,the fact is that they are better off without him.He can only taint any group that associates with him.

I don't care if he's an Independent or a Whig. The man banned smoking in public places, and wants to raise taxes on commuters to ease his traffic problem, without considering how it might impact people who already can't afford to live where they work.

He's a Leftist, in my view.

I think he has credibility issues. Politicians would normally allign themselves with a party if they know that they're gonna gain something from changing political leanings and affiliations. Its obviously part of his political strategy to boost his status. I smell vested interest and hidden political agenda as well.

People forget that Bloomberg was a Democrat who switched to Republican to run for mayor of N.Y. And now he's switching / waffling again . I forsee credibility problems .

Someone please explain to the guy below me that there's nothing 'brave' about switching back and forth , back and forth . That's not bravery. . . . . that's pandering , waffling and shows no indication of solid foundational beliefs .
