I just heard that the marriage bill for NY just passed some stage of government (didn't catch the whole story and its the only one they havn't repeated 20 times go figure lol) if i hear it again i will add details. but what do you think this means are we actually going to get the same rights soon?

they finally replayed the story it passed the state assembly 85 to 61 late last night, it still has to go to the state assembly.

the rights are coming...if for no other reason that America likes to feel that it is on the cutting edge of society...and in this area it is falling behind in the world....Your day will come and my guess is soon.

Unfortunately Wisconsin, a usually rather progressive state, shot it down; mostly because the Right-Wingers and the Thumpers were able to confuse the Older crowd with some very misleading advertising. I wish we would have at least gotten the legitslation through because now even the Common Law marraige here between heterosexual couples in Wisconsin is negagated. Just to hurt the same sex they went too far and hurt more than us.
I hope that we can reach higher than a State level and get National recognition on this! We deserve the same rights.

another step in the right direction....and, hopefully, encouraging other states to follow. it may take some time, but we can't give up hope!

We are making progress, unfortunately it will not even be looked at my the senate this year. (led by a Republican)
