Dina , yes but does that one have the right to shoot children? I expect greater from Israel and support Her right to exist. It makes it hard to explain her greatness when she mistreats her minorities. Same for The US........

Thor Girl, I usually agree with you but I think this time I have to part. Hamas, PLO, and the like have for years been throwing suicide bombers into Israel's restaurants, buses, stores and it needs to protect itself at all costs. Its enemies are always vigilant for weakness on the part of Israel.

Question: What is Israel doing wrong?
In other words, what is Israel supposed to do in the light of the fact that there are groups that present a very real existential threat? Well, what that means is that they have to use deadly force against these people. Since these people are located in population centres it is inevetable that innocents will be caught in the crossfire. This is what happens in ANY war. Deal with it.
As to your linking of Israel's war against terror to "dragging the world down" I fail to see the logic in that linkage.
Also, as to your reference to racism in the US, I find it quite funny. Although racism does occur in the US, it also occurs anywhere. But I challenge you to prove that racism in the US is any more a) prevasive and b) insiduous than any other Western 1st world country. I'll bet that it is not. Yet you uphold it as an example of racism, presumbly because of your own fact free based biases.
And if you are worried about issues such as racism, I suggest you take a close look at the institutualized anti semetism that has taken root in the Palestinian territories. If you don't beleive me, then you'll be hard pressed to explain how a Hamas run TV station uses a clone of Mickey Mouse to encourage martyrdom against Israel (translation: they think it is noble to blow up innnocent Jews).
And as for my Bar Mitzvah, well, I had mine almost 20 years ago. Rest assured your are not invited to my kid's.

Israel is an apartheid state.
Israeli state terror is indeed bringing the world down. There will be no peace in the Middle East until the Palestinians in refugee camps for 60 years can go home.

Israel does not keep Palestine in poverty and is in fact where most Palestinians work.That Israel is blamed for the death of children is insane ..Blame those that incite riots, blame those that allow rockets to be fired from their neighborhoods, blame those that teach their children that Jews are animals and it is their duty to drive them into the sea. Israel should have made the whole of Palestine a waste land a long time ago , instead they had compassion and let them stay. You blame those that have had to install draconian security laws to keep their children from being massacred. Tell me do you see even ONE security out post of the Palestinians to stop Jews from blowing themselves up in crowded Palestinian markets or restaurants?

I agree with you 100%. Keeping Palestine surpressed and in poverty breeds anger, rage and contempt. Israel is the bully on the block.

There are 46 predominately Muslim countries and 1 Jewish state..
Why not just let Israel live in peace and quiet, then all would be well.
The Jewish people have been kicked out of every N.African country at one time or another.... and never once cried about it, never once demanded to have part of Egypt segregated just for themselves....
