It will depend on the location and size of it. If the myoma is on the outside of the uterus and it is small the dr may be able to remove the myoma thru laparoscopic surgery. If it's bigger they would have to do a full cut most likely. If it's inside the uterus and small enough they can remove it thru a special instrument called a hysteroscope.

Also, with the myomas on the outside they may do a procedure called uterine fibroid embolization. The intent with this treatment is to try and cut off the blood supply to the myoma which then would cause it to die.
