This is still big news. Without any real developments in the search for the child - she hasn't been found yet, peoples interest in the case will continue.
It has been said before, just don't bother reading the questions.
There are hundreds of questions on this site that either don't interest me, or i wouldn't have a scooby how to answer, I just don't read them - full stop.
I think this question you have posted has more to do with the fact that you support the Mccann's, and object to people asking about Kate & Gerry!

No. Because then people will want a 'Princess Di' section and a 'JFK Section' a section for each political party, a 'Jordon' section etc etc.

The Mccanns will soon fade out of the limelight.

No. You have to realise the concept of the site.
It is for anyone and everyone to discuss what they like within reason of not being abusive.
I have seen loads of questions I don't want to answer so overlook them.
Why do you moan about them? Just don't read them. I didn't red Paris Hilton's posts but I didn't complain, I ignore a lot of the religious ones too because its not my thing. That's the idea of this site.
What the hell has Dave s got to do with this anyway? He has every right to contribute.

The McCanns are a very high profile news item at the moment so New and Events is the correct place to locate questions. Nobody who is uninterested or dislikes the views given has to answer these questions. I certainly don't answer all of them.

You give them way too much credit, or you are highly suggestible.

This IS the 'Current Events' section, where issues flare up, have their run, and then die down, rarely to be heard from again.

A few days ago it was all about Paris Hilton and jail. She's just as much in the jail today as she was last week, yet no one feels compelled to write tons of drivel on or against her behalf.

if you're having nightmare about these postings then the simple solution, my friend is do not answer the related questions or go to another topic.

No. This is a current news section, the McCanns are current news, like it or not. If you dont have enough self control and will power to just skip over those questions, that is really your own fault?
Im not interested in Paris Hilton so I skip past those questions. Its not hard, is it?

To the poster who mentioned "false" facts about the McCanns, I dont recall reading ANY false facts, everything Ive read has been reported in the media, or on Gerrys blog by himself...Oh, I see your point now!

I think it is a good idea - however, the main page doesn`t show questions with a certain subject excluded.

Your nightmares will not be over that way.

It's a person's own fault if they read and answer questions about the McCanns. No one is standing over them with a gun to their head. If you don't want to read the McCann stuff the DON'T.! Simple.
