a) this means 1 complete wave is passing every 5 seconds

f= number waves/time taken
= 1/5 = 0.2Hz

b)a wave will pass through a distance of 1 wavelength (24m) in 5 seconds

v = d/t
= 24/5 = 4.8m/s

or wavelength = 24m
frequency = 0.2Hz
v = f x (wavelength)
= 0.2 x 24
= 4.8m/s

Dude,
If there was one wave top in every second,
its frequency becomes 1 beat per second or let say 1 Hertz.

As your wave comes every 5 second, its 1/5 beat per second or 0.2 Hertz.

And speed is distance divided by time.
Therefore 24/5 = 4.8 m/s (meter/second)
.

Frequency = 1/ period = 1/5 = 0.2 cycles/sec or 0.2 Hz

Velocity = frequency x wavelength = 0.2 x 24 = 4.8 m/sec
