Taking vitamins on an empty stomach won't kill you, although doing so may decrease its beneficial properties.
There are generally two types of chemical structures for vitamins...they're either fat-soluble or water-soluble.
If the vitamin is water-soluble, then they are able to break apart and be absorbed into your bloodstream simply with the presence of water.
If the vitamin is fat-soluble, then you need to eat something with a little bit of lipid content with it, in order to reap the full benefits of the vitamin. One such example is Vitamin A - commonly found in carrots, whose one benefits among many are aiding night vision. This is why traditionally it is slightly better to eat carrots with either a little bit of cheese, yogurt, or light dip.
Kapeesh? Kapeesh. I am totally procrastinating on my homework...toodles!

I do take my multi-vitamin on an empty stomach but the biggest reason I do that is because of how sensitive my body becomes if I try to eat and then take some medicines with a meal. When this happens my heart will race.
I would recommend checking with your dr first before starting anything to see what they think and say.

it is okay to take tylenol on empty abdomen except you're taking a severe dosage like 800mg (thats 4 pills of the save offered form that are 200mg each). some people have a comfortable abdomen so it is counseled they take it with food. As for supplements, it is counseled to take with food for 2 motives, greater appropriate absorption and for greater appropriate tolerance. some people get nauseous whilst they take supplements on an empty abdomen.
