I have a goldfish, and I haven't had this problem. See if there is anything on this site that will help you.

Good luck.

Do you clean the staones at the bottom of the tank cos the filter only cleans the water. the stones give off a dusty colour mist so try cleaning them witt your hands in warm water.

If your tank is less than 2 months old, or you"ve used an antibiotic medication in the tank recently, I have to go with AlieN MinD. Here's a link that will tell you more: http://www.fishlore.com/CloudyWater.htm - be sure to read the internal link on the Nitrogen Cycle as well.

Its a bacteria bloom :)

White, cloudy water can be caused by several things, but most commonly is due to a “bacteria bloom” A “bacteria bloom” is usually associated with “new tank syndrome” . Ammonia builds up I the tank and the nitrogen cycle begins. As the aerobic bacteria establishes itself, it floats through the water creating a cloudy appearance. A “bacteria bloom” can also be caused by sudden increases in ammonia due to overfeeding or excess organic waste and decay . losses of large numbers of bacteria due to power outages or other circumstances can also cause “bacteria bloom”.

There are small bags of ammonia that you can get to drop in your tank. They just look like a net mess little bag and it will clear your water right up!

I have 4 goldfish and this has never happened to me.

Have you check to see if maybe they are mating, and maybe having babies?

Cheers
