Modernity is looked upon as forward looking force, while tradition is something that has existed in the past. Will the two of them always result in conflicts or are there some cases where they can fuse together without any conflicts.

How does tradition help to forge our identity, as in, how can we say who we are through our tradition?
Does being modern destroy that identity and make us a completely different person?

Traditions Like modernity also remain in transition but at a much slower pace.Conflicts arise when they tend to pull in opposite directions over some specific issues. The conflicts being a part of the both also go through a transition. Thus over a period of time ,such conflicts are resolved either through rejection.or acceptance of changes or their modified versions. The cycle continues and the traditions also keep changing and evolving.Modernity can not and has not been able to destroy traditions but modifying it through mass consensus.japan is a clear example of it.So,let us be ready to be 'traditionally modern' or 'moderately Traditionalist.
