IMHO, I believe that Harry lives, because it is a children's/YA series after all and the central character of such series never die, JKR will not buck that canon.

And about the idea Harry is a horcrux, which is why some think he will die, Harry is not a horcrux!
This idea makes no sense in light of the prophesy for one, and why would Voldemort put part of his soul into someone he might have to fight anyway. If he kills Harry, he's wasted part of his soul. Also, I reject the idea that Harry became a horcrux as an unintentional byproduct of the rebounding of Voldemort's killing curse. The byproduct is known and is the empathic bound between the two, and that's all, IMHO.

Remember too that all the horcruxes have to be destroyed before Voldemort is vulnerable to death. If Harry is a horcrux, then Harry must die first, then Voldemort. So it would mean that Harry would have to loose a killing curse at Voldemort just after Voldemort loosed a killing curse against him--that is very tricky timing!.

I take the prophecy to mean that vanquishing Voldemort it Harry's job--no chance that Voldemort becomes vulnerable with a Harry sacrifice and with Harry dead, someone else kills Voldemort.

Well, here's my opinion. Harry could very easily be a Horcrux, except for one major flaw. The book says that Voldemort can only be killed if ALL the Horcruxes have been destroyed. If Harry is a Horcrux, then Harry has to die before he can kill Voldemort. But, if Harry is dead, it might be a little hard for him to kill Voldemort.
Sure, he could die some other way, but I'm pretty sure J.K. Rowling has enough sense not to kill him off. It would be a pretty depressing and painful way to end the series, not to mention the danger of having millions of fangirls lynch Rowling afterwards.
Plenty of people DO die though, so no worries. Assuming you've read the 6th, we all know Snape supposedly is "bad", but my reasoning for his future in the 7th book is short and sweet. We have three main options. 1) Snape will turn out to be good, and then die doing some heroic act like saving Harry; 2) Someone on the "good side" will kill Snape, only to find out later he was actually good; 3) Snape will live or die as a bad guy.
To me, there is virtually no way Snape will turn out to be good AND survive. That would be too good to be true.

Cheers,
MH

No. I have complete faith that Harry is not going to die in book seven.

He is not a freaking Horcrux. Harry has to destroy all the horcruxes before he can go after the last piece of soul inside Voldemort. So Harry therefore cannot be a horcrux. Who would kill Dumbledore. After all Harry is the wizard who has the power to kill the Dark Lord.

It is almost defifnite cause if you remember there was a silence when dumbledore said that horcruxes could be anything or anyone. He is most surely one. And it is a price that has to be paid because rowling said that she knew who was to die from the beginning and both needed a reprieve.

I think he will. I think that Harry is a Horocux and will have to die in order to ensure that Voldemort never returns.
