They are both very overrated baseball players. The Red Sox could have spent their free agent money a little bit smarter than on these two guys.

For which group? Lugo is extremely overpaid & on no account inspired self belief in the sector or on the plate. i do no longer understand of one purple Sox fan, looking returned over the season, lamenting what "might have been" had Lugo no longer been injured! Willis had one spectacular season, yet for some reason looks to have lost each thing! To my awareness, after landing a extensive settlement with the Tigers, he pitched very poorly, grew to become into sent to the minors early in the season, and did no longer return to the bigs all twelve months! The Sox ought to continually use yet another left-surpassed pitcher, yet I see no reason to decide for Willis until he proves before he can pitch on the vast league point. If this commerce grew to become into made, my prediction may well be the Tigers have been given the greater effective end of the deal. Hmm - Nate Robertson quite of Willis? it relatively is tempting.

I honestly think Drew will come around he's starting to show signs of it now he just needed to get used to the Boston atmosphere, but in Lugo's case i doubt it... he did good in the first half last year but has done nothing since hittings around .200 He is just not a very good player

Theyre just in a slump...it happens to the best of them. And Lugo hasn't been doin to great the whole year. He might be feeling the pressures of playing for one of the biggest, loudest fan bases in the country. Its hard for people to come here after being with some teams because our fans actually care about the game and are very very vocal.
BOSTON YOUR MY HOME!
Go Sox!

First part:
After Gonzalez went to Cincy, and a stellar defensive season at short, we decided the rest of our bats would hold up that part of the lineup (which, ahem, they have) and another defensive player would work well in the mix. Although Lugo is CLEARLY no replacement for Orlando Cabrera, the best mix of the two, he is certainly doing no recognizable damage to best team in baseball.
Second:
Drew just needs to learn a little bit from his predecessor (Trot) and not be such a candy-*** on the field. My God, we know you're talented J.D, just don't be a wuss.

JD Drew is fine, not sure what is wrong with Julio. Most likely it is 80% confidence and 20% mechanics.

not sure if the pressure of playing in Boston is getting to them or if they are better in warmer weather but they had better snap out if it, especially since we are paying them so much

Just slumping
Don't worry, they'll come back to normal... and normal is very good for Drew.
