I have never taught her to draw. She does this on her own.

It just goes to show that she has a creative urge and should be encouraged , hope she is budding artist.
I have found tho it's pretty normal for 3 yr olds to draw especially if other siblings in family to copy off, if no others then she has talent. ♥

Say most kids can do. If you want a budding artist, you must encourage her to draw even more saying positive things and compliments when she make good thinks. Good crayons also help.

Never do the other way around, saying negative thinks like "that's horrible" "not do it", besides you can harm psychologically your child saying things like that, saying positive things is the way to teach persons, specially little children to do things.

Mother's love helps her, you know.

I heard a story and I don't know how true it is. But it says if you go into a kindergarten class and ask who is an artist, everyone will raise their hands. Go to a college class and ask who is an artist, almost nobody will raise their hands.

It seems to be a natural outlet at that age for creativity. Me and my 3 sisters all did the same thing when we were younger. Nobody "taught" us. After all, if you "teach" it to her, it won't be as fun. Just give her some materials and encouragement, and let her have a blast!

I drew circles at 18 months, so maybe. I think most children can draw something like that by that age. All kids love to draw. Just keep encouraging her and you'll find out when she grows up.

Could be. Make sure to have paper and washable markers nearby most of the time and let her do her thing. Always praise her art work even if you can't make out what it is. Ask her to tell you a story about the drawing.

Yes... Praise her and she will be encourage to draw even more... say stuff like "Wow! that's good! keep it up..."... Every time she shows you a picture, take time to look at it and say something positive, not hurriedly and she will be an artist.... As she takes a greater interest, get her all she needs to keep drawing, coloring, etc...

Most 3 yo's can do something like that. My son will be 3 next mo & does the same thing. Just give her lots of avenues to practice; colors, washable markers, contruction paper, etc. Oh And water colors!!

If she can practice, she may surprise you!! :)

I doubt it. All kids draw - even stick figures.
Let me guess, she cries too...
